summary

When God's favor rests on you, it is meant to become light for more than just you.

lyrics

God be merciful to us and bless us,
And cause His face to shine upon us. Selah.

That Your way may be known on earth,
Your saving power among all nations.

Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
For You will judge the peoples righteously
And govern the nations on earth. Selah.

Let the peoples praise You, O God;
Let all the peoples praise You.

Then the earth will yield her increase,
And God, even our own God, will bless us.

God will bless us,
And all the ends of the earth will fear Him.

Psalm 67: Let All the Peoples Praise You

When you need to remember — that You're still my Shepherd.

What's Going On…

There is something in your heart that gets bigger when you imagine voices besides yours rising in praise — voices from every street, every language, every story you have not heard yet. You were made for a room that includes everyone God is calling. When your soul has felt small lately, it might be because your vision has shrunk. The blessing on your life was always meant to widen until others could see Him through it.

What It Means

The prayer starts personal: "Be merciful to us and bless us... cause His face to shine upon us." Then it immediately turns outward: "That Your way may be known on earth, Your saving power among all nations." Blessing is mission-shaped. The repeated refrain — "Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You" — is the heartbeat. He is pictured as righteous Judge and faithful Governor of nations, and that makes joy possible beyond your personal circumstances. "Let the nations be glad and sing for joy." By the end, worship and fruitfulness connect: God blesses, the earth yields increase, and all the ends of the earth learn reverent awe. The whole prayer is short, hopeful, and globally aimed. The blessing that lands on you keeps moving outward until everyone in the room has heard about Him. Notice the refrain bookends the prayer: "Let the people praise You, O God; let all the people praise You," before and after the call for nations to be glad. He repeats it because the heart drifts back to small circles, and praise has to be widened again. And the closing benediction widens further than feels safe: "God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear Him." Even fear-of-God language is meant to travel — reverent awe is good news for the whole earth.

Right Here, Right Now

• Right now, ask God to bless you in one specific way that would also help someone else encounter His goodness through you. • Write this down: "Where have I been treating blessing as personal comfort instead of shared witness?" • Repeat this line when your vision starts shrinking: "Let all the peoples praise You, O God."

Selah

Stop. Breathe. Let the picture of voices besides yours joining the room of praise settle in, then tell Him where you want your life to carry His light beyond yourself — out loud if you can.

Prayer

God, be merciful to me and let Your face shine on my life again. Bless me in ways that do not stop with me, but point others toward You. Widen my heart beyond my own needs and help me care about Your name among all peoples. Use my words, my work, and my relationships to make Your way more visible around me. Let joy rise in me because You are a righteous Judge and a faithful King over all the earth. You're still my Shepherd.

Stay Strong

When God's favor rests on you, it is meant to become light for more than just you.
