summary

What looks unstoppable to you is still temporary to the God who sees the end.

lyrics

The wicked plot against the righteous
And gnash their teeth at him.
But the Lord laughs at the wicked,
For He sees that their day is coming.
The wicked draw the sword and bend their bow
To bring down the poor and needy,
To slay those who walk uprightly.
Their sword will enter their own heart,
And their bows will be broken.

Better the little that the righteous have
Than the wealth of many wicked.
For the arms of the wicked will be broken,
But the Lord upholds the righteous.
The Lord knows the days of the upright;
Their inheritance will last forever.
They will not be ashamed in evil times;
In days of famine they will be satisfied.
But the wicked will perish;
The enemies of the Lord are like the glory of the pastures;
They will vanish—in smoke they will vanish away.

Psalm 37B: He Sees Their Day Coming

When you need to remember — that You're still my Shepherd.

What's Going On…

It is hard to stay calm when people come at you with real hostility. You watch manipulation, aggression, and pride move like they have no consequences, and it stirs up fear and frustration within you. Part of you wants to panic. Another part wants to swing back hard. Then there is money pressure and uncertainty stacked on top. You wonder if doing right is actually worth it when wicked people seem to have more and move faster.

What It Means

This passage does not pretend evil is harmless. It names plotting, threats, and violence directly. Right before the perspective shift is the picture: "The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes at him with his teeth." The aggression is real, the threat is real, the bared teeth are real. And then the heavens answer with laughter — not mockery of pain, but the calm of a God who already knows the ending. "The Lord laughs at the wicked, for He sees that his day is coming." Day, not delay. Coming, not maybe. God is not intimidated by what intimidates you. It also resets value: "Better is the little that the righteous has than the riches of many wicked, for the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but the Lord upholds the righteous." Why is the upright steady in lean times? "The Lord knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance shall be forever. They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied." Even when the table is small, He keeps the people who walk with Him. The ones who look untouchable are still temporary; the one who trusts God is held.

Right Here, Right Now

• Name one fear tied to unfair people or unfair systems, and hand it to God in prayer. • Write this down: "Where am I envying what is temporary instead of trusting what is eternal?" • Repeat this line when anxiety rises: "The Lord knows the days of the upright."

Selah

Stop. Breathe. Let God's perspective interrupt your panic, then tell Him exactly where evil has felt loud and personal to you — out loud if you can.

Prayer

God, You see what is happening, and You are not confused by any of it. I confess that I get rattled when wickedness looks strong and immediate. Keep me from fear, envy, and retaliation that would pull me off Your path. Teach me to trust Your timing and to live with clean hands while I wait. Uphold me in what is little, and remind me that You know my days and will not abandon me. You're still my Shepherd.

Stay Strong

What looks unstoppable to you is still temporary to the God who sees the end.
