summary

When the King of glory enters, you no longer have to live like everything depends on you.

lyrics

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it
The world, and all who live in it

For He founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers

Who may ascend the hill of the Lord?
Who may stand in His holy place?

He who has clean hands and a pure heart
Who has not lifted up his soul to vanity
Nor sworn deceitfully

He will receive blessing from the Lord
And righteousness from the God of his salvation

This is the generation of those who seek Him
Who seek Your face, O God of Jacob
Selah

Lift up your heads, O you gates
Be lifted up, you ancient doors
That the King of glory may come in

Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty
The Lord mighty in battle

Lift up your heads, O you gates
Even lift them up, you everlasting doors
That the King of glory may come in

Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts
He is the King of glory
Selah

Psalm 24: King of Glory

When you need to remember — that You're still my Shepherd.

What's Going On…

You can get pulled into acting like everything is yours to carry, manage, and control — your future, your image, your success, your security. The pressure builds fast when your whole identity is tied to what you can hold together. Then you remember: you are not owner, you are steward. That truth can feel humbling and relieving at the same time. You do not have to be God of your life.

What It Means

It opens with a massive reset: "The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it." Not some things — everything. That includes your opportunities, your setbacks, your body, your breath, your next step. He founded all of it, so He is not confused about how to lead you through it. Then it asks the heart-level question: who gets to stand near Him? Clean hands. Pure heart. No vanity. No deceit. This is not fake perfection; it is integrity before God. The blessing is for those who seek His face, not just His gifts. And then the atmosphere shifts to holy celebration: "Lift up your heads… that the King of glory may come in." The answer repeats on purpose — the Lord strong and mighty, the Lord of hosts, the King of glory. This is a call to open every locked place in you to His rule. The repetition is not filler. He knocks twice because the rooms inside us are slow to open. And notice the name He carries — "mighty in battle." This is not a gentle visit. He enters as a King who has already fought and won, ready to reclaim the ground you have stopped fighting for.

Right Here, Right Now

• Right now, say out loud: "Everything I have belongs to the Lord." • Write this down: "Where have I been gripping control instead of seeking His face?" • Repeat this line when anxiety or pride rises: "Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty."

Selah

Stop. Breathe. Let these words realign what you think you own, then tell Him exactly what door in your heart still needs to open to His rule — out loud if you can.

Prayer

God, I confess I keep trying to run what only You can carry. Remind me that everything belongs to You, including me. Clean my hands and purify my heart where I have chased vanity and hidden behind image. Teach me to seek Your face above outcomes, platforms, and control. Come in as King of glory and rule every room in me that I have kept shut. You're still my Shepherd.

Stay Strong

When the King of glory enters, you no longer have to live like everything depends on you.
