When you do not know the way forward, trust the One who guides your next step.
lyrics
Unto You, O Lord, do I lift up my soul O my God, in You I trust Let me not be put to shame Let not my enemies triumph over me Let none who wait on You be ashamed But let those be ashamed who transgress without cause Show me Your ways, O Lord Teach me Your paths Lead me in Your truth and teach me For You are the God of my salvation On You I wait all the day Remember, O Lord, Your tender mercies And Your lovingkindnesses For they have been from of old Remember not the sins of my youth Nor my transgressions According to Your mercy remember me For Your goodness’ sake, O Lord Good and upright is the Lord Therefore He will teach sinners in the way The meek He will guide in judgment The meek He will teach His way All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies For Your name’s sake, O Lord Pardon my iniquity For it is great Who is the man who fears the Lord? Him He will teach in the way he should choose His soul shall dwell at ease And his seed shall inherit the earth The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him He will show them His covenant My eyes are ever toward the Lord For He shall pluck my feet out of the net Turn to me and have mercy upon me For I am desolate and afflicted The troubles of my heart are enlarged O bring me out of my distresses Look upon my affliction and my pain And forgive all my sins Consider my enemies, for they are many They hate me with cruel hatred O keep my soul and deliver me Let me not be ashamed, for I put my trust in You Let integrity and uprightness preserve me For I wait on You Redeem Israel, O God Out of all his troubles

Psalm 25: Show Me Your Ways
When you need to remember — that You're still my Shepherd.
What's Going On…
You can want to follow God and still feel unsure what step to take next. You are carrying pressure, regret, and too many voices in your head. You do not want to drift, but you also do not trust your own instincts right now. You need direction you can trust.
At the same time, old failures still whisper. You remember mistakes from younger years and wonder if they disqualify you from peace now. You need guidance and mercy in the same breath.
What It Means
This begins with surrendered trust: "Unto You, O Lord, do I lift up my soul… in You I trust." Then the repeated request: "Show me Your ways… teach me Your paths… lead me in Your truth." This is not performative spirituality. It is someone admitting, "I cannot lead myself well without You."
It also includes honest confession: "Remember not the sins of my youth… according to Your mercy remember me… pardon my iniquity, for it is great." He is not minimizing failure. He is bringing it into mercy. Notice the request — "pardon my iniquity, for it is great." The size of the failure is not a reason to hide; it is the reason to ask. Mercy is not measured against the size of what you bring.
And even with enemies and enlarged troubles, the posture stays steady. There is a sentence in the middle that explains the whole approach: "The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way." Humility is the prerequisite to direction. Not because God withholds from the proud, but because the proud are not actually asking. And later: "The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him." Reverence opens what cleverness cannot. Eyes toward the Lord, feet pulled from the net, integrity preserved while waiting. The core is simple and hard-won: guidance comes to those who trust and wait.
Right Here, Right Now
• Pause right now and pray: "Show me Your way and lead me in Your truth" — before the next decision in front of you.
• Write this down: "What regret or fear is making it hardest for me to trust God right now?"
• Repeat this line when anxiety rises: "My eyes are ever toward the Lord."
Selah
Stop. Breathe. Let these words settle your uncertainty, then tell Him exactly where you need guidance and mercy today — out loud if you can.
Prayer
God, I lift up my soul to You because I do not want to lead myself by fear.
Show me Your ways and teach me the next right step to take.
Remember me according to Your mercy, not according to my old failures.
Pull my feet out of every net that keeps tripping me up.
Give me integrity to keep waiting on You when answers feel slow.
You're still my Shepherd.
Stay Strong
When you do not know the way forward, trust the One who guides your next step.
