lyrics
Consider my affliction and deliver me, For I do not forget Your law. Plead my cause and redeem me; Revive me according to Your word. Salvation is far from the wicked, For they do not seek Your statutes. Great are Your tender mercies, O Lord; Revive me according to Your judgments. Many are my persecutors and my enemies, Yet I do not turn aside from Your testimonies. I beheld the transgressors and was grieved, Because they did not keep Your word. Consider how I love Your precepts; Revive me, O Lord, according to Your lovingkindness. The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever.

Psalm 119T: Deliver Me From My Afflictions
When you need to remember — that You're still my Shepherd.
What's Going On…
You can be in a stretch where the afflictions have stacked. Not one — multiple. Persecutors, internal battles, the slow grief over watching people you love drift from what is true. You keep waking up to a world that has not yet been delivered, and you keep asking the Lord to consider yours specifically.
You do not need a more spiritual perspective. You need to know that "the sum of Your word is truth" — that even when you cannot see the whole, the totality of what He has said still adds up to something solid, and you can rest your weight there.
What It Means
This section opens with three intertwined requests: "Consider my affliction and deliver me, for I do not forget Your law. Plead my cause and redeem me; revive me according to Your word." Consider, deliver, plead, redeem, revive. Five verbs in two verses, all asking God to move. Then the contrast: "Salvation is far from the wicked, for they do not seek Your statutes. Great are Your tender mercies, O Lord; revive me according to Your judgments." The wicked are far from salvation because they do not even look for it. He looks for it. So he asks for revival.
Then the writer names the constancy: "Many are my persecutors and my enemies, yet I do not turn aside from Your testimonies. I beheld the transgressors and was grieved, because they did not keep Your word." Persecutors are plural. So is grief at watching others drift. Both real. Both daily.
The close lands on the line that holds when individual verses go thin: "Consider how I love Your precepts; revive me, O Lord, according to Your lovingkindness. The sum of Your word is truth, and every one of Your righteous judgments endures forever." Sum. The total. Even when one verse has not been answered, the sum of what He has said is true. You can lay your weight on the totality when the individual line feels insufficient. The whole is true, and every part endures forever.
Right Here, Right Now
• Right now, name three afflictions stacked on you — and follow them with: "The sum of Your word is truth."
• Write this down: "Where have I been treating one unanswered verse as if it canceled the totality of what He has said?"
• Repeat this line when one specific question stays unanswered: "The sum of Your word is truth."
Selah
Stop. Breathe. Let the difference between a single verse and the sum of His Word settle in your heart, then tell Him exactly where you need the totality to hold you — out loud if you can.
Prayer
God, consider my affliction and deliver me — there is more than one stacked on me.
Plead my cause and redeem me; revive me according to Your word.
Many are my persecutors, but I do not want to turn aside from Your testimonies.
The sum of Your word is truth — even when one specific question has not been answered, I am laying my weight on the totality.
Revive me according to Your lovingkindness, because Your judgments endure forever.
You're still my Shepherd.
Stay Strong
The sum of His Word is truth — the sum holds you when individual verses feel thin.
