Inside the secret place, He is still with you in trouble.
lyrics
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you will find refuge; His truth will be your shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, Nor the arrow that flies by day, Nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Nor the destruction that lays waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, Ten thousand at your right hand, But it will not come near you. Only with your eyes will you behold And see the recompense of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your refuge, Even the Most High your dwelling place, No evil shall befall you, Nor any plague come near your tent. For He will command His angels concerning you To guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, Lest you strike your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the adder; The young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot. “Because he has set his love upon Me, Therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him And show him My salvation.”

Psalm 91: The Secret Place
When you need to remember — that You're still my Shepherd.
What's Going On…
You can carry low-grade fear like background music — fear of what could happen, fear of what you cannot control, fear of bad news landing in the wrong inbox at the wrong time. You manage it well enough to function, but it is always running underneath.
What you actually want is not a guarantee that nothing hard will ever come. You want to know there is a covering — a place to step under — that does not depend on you maintaining it.
What It Means
This passage opens with the picture that names the whole prayer: "He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." There is a real hidden place under His shadow. You step into it by trust. "I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'"
Then the threats are named honestly — the snare of the fowler, deadly pestilence, terror by night, arrows by day, destruction at noonday. This is a different kind of confidence: "He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge." The middle gets bold: "A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you." Even the angels are involved: "He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways."
Then the closing turn shifts to God's first-person voice: "Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him... I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him My salvation." Notice the line that does not get edited: I will be with him IN trouble. The covering guarantees His presence inside the trouble.
Right Here, Right Now
• Right now, step into the secret place — pray out loud: "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust" — before naming any of the fear.
• Write this down: "Where have I been managing fear instead of stepping under His shadow?"
• Repeat this line when threat feels close: "I will be with him in trouble."
Selah
Stop. Breathe. Let the picture of His shadow widen over the part of you that has been bracing, then tell Him exactly what you have been afraid of — out loud if you can.
Prayer
God, You are my refuge and my fortress, and I am stepping into the secret place again.
I have been carrying fear like background music, and I want to lay it down under Your wings.
Cover me where I feel exposed and surrounded, even when the threat does not vanish.
Be with me in trouble — that is the covering I actually need.
Set Your love over me, and let me dwell in the place that no fear can reach.
You're still my Shepherd.
Stay Strong
Inside the secret place, He is still with you in trouble.
