Quick cries for help are still real faith when they are aimed at the right Deliverer.
lyrics
Make haste, O God, to deliver me; Make haste to help me, O Lord. Let them be ashamed and confounded Who seek after my soul; Let them be turned backward and put to confusion Who desire my harm. Let them turn back in reward for their shame Who say, “Aha, aha!” Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, “Let God be magnified!” But I am poor and needy; Make haste to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, do not delay.

Psalm 70: Deliver Me Quickly
When you need to remember — that You're still my Shepherd.
What's Going On…
There are moments when everything feels urgent at once. Pressure hits fast, your mind starts racing, and you do not feel like you have the margin for a long recovery plan. You just need help now, before fear and frustration take over your reactions.
You can also feel the sting of people who seem to enjoy your struggle. Their tone, their comments, their quiet contempt can get under your skin and make you want to spiral, hide, or strike back.
What It Means
This one is short and weighty. It opens and closes with urgency: "Make haste... make haste... do not delay." That repetition gives language for crisis prayer. You do not have to impress God with long speeches when you are under pressure. You can cry for immediate rescue.
It also holds justice and worship together. He asks God to confront those seeking his harm. The center shifts to this: "Let all those who seek You rejoice... let those who love Your salvation say continually, 'Let God be magnified!'" Even while poor and needy, he keeps his focus on who God is: "You are my help and my deliverer." Urgency sharpens trust.
Read this one as a complete prayer in its own right. The urgency is bookended on purpose: "Make haste, O God, to deliver me; make haste to help me" opens, and "You are my help and my deliverer; O Lord, make no tarrying" closes. Two haste-prayers wrapping a small middle. The middle is just as brief. Just three quick movements: those out for harm get turned back, those who seek God get joy, and the one praying simply confesses, "I am poor and needy." That confession is the real engine. He stays small, says it twice, and asks God to move now. Short prayer, full faith — sometimes that is exactly what fits the moment.
Right Here, Right Now
• If your anxiety is spiked, stop and pray one clear sentence immediately: "God, make haste to help me here."
• Write this down: "Where do I wait too long to ask for help because I am trying to look strong?"
• Repeat this line when stress surges: "You are my help and my deliverer."
Selah
Stop. Breathe. Let your need for immediate help be honest without embarrassment, then tell Him exactly where you need Him to move quickly — out loud if you can.
Prayer
God, I need You to help me quickly today.
The pressure feels immediate, and I do not want fear to control how I respond.
You see the voices that mock, the stress that builds, and the places where I feel small and exposed.
Be my help and my deliverer in this exact moment, not only later when things calm down.
Teach me to magnify You even while I am needy, and keep my heart anchored in trust.
You're still my Shepherd.
Stay Strong
