summary
The storm can be real — and the One who thunders in glory can still be King over it.
lyrics
Give unto the Lord, O you mighty Give unto the Lord glory and strength Give unto the Lord the glory due unto His name Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness The voice of the Lord is upon the waters The God of glory thunders The Lord is upon many waters The voice of the Lord is powerful The voice of the Lord is full of majesty The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars Yes, the Lord breaks the cedars of Lebanon He makes them also skip like a calf Lebanon and Sirion like a young unicorn The voice of the Lord divides the flames of fire The voice of the Lord shakes the wilderness The Lord shakes the wilderness of Kadesh The voice of the Lord makes the hinds to calve And discovers the forests And in His temple everyone speaks of His glory The Lord sits enthroned upon the flood Yes, the Lord sits as King forever The Lord will give strength unto His people The Lord will bless His people with peace

Psalm 29: God of Glory Thunders
When you need to remember — that You're still my Shepherd.
What's Going On…
Sometimes the world feels loud in a way you cannot mute — headlines, pressure, your own racing thoughts, the sense that everything could shake loose. You are not always afraid of a single problem; you are afraid of how big chaos feels when nobody seems in charge.
Other times the storm is mostly inside: anxiety that rolls in like weather, shame that cracks like thunder, exhaustion that makes you want to hide. You need something stronger than the noise — not a pep talk, but a presence weighty enough to still the room.
What It Means
This does not tip-toe. It calls the strong to honor what deserves honor, then it walks straight into the sound: "The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders… the voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty." Cedars break, wilderness shakes — not violence for its own sake, but a picture of power that outranks every threat you have been bracing against. Even the deer give birth at the sound of it; even oaks twist. Nothing in the natural order is unaffected. And the people inside the temple respond with one word: "Glory!"
Then the tone shifts without pretending the storm never happened: in His house, people speak of His glory. He sits enthroned over the flood — not swept away by it — and He remains King. The close is not hype; it is a promise aimed at real people in real noise: "The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace." Strength and peace from the same hand. The very voice that broke cedars also blesses with stillness. That is the contrast that makes this whole picture trustworthy — power that does not have to perform, and tenderness that does not have to apologize.
Right Here, Right Now
• Step outside for two minutes right now and whisper one line out loud about His strength being bigger than what scares you.
• Write this down: "What noise have I been treating like it gets the final word?"
• Repeat this line when your chest tightens: "The Lord sits enthroned as King forever."
Selah
Stop. Breathe. Let the weight of His voice land deeper than your fear, then tell Him exactly what has been shaking you — out loud if you can.
Prayer
God, the world feels loud and I feel small in the middle of it.
Remind me that Your voice is not one more noise — it is the one that holds everything.
When I feel shaken, steady me in who You are, not in how calm I can pretend to be.
Give Your people strength, and give me peace that does not depend on everything being quiet.
You're still my Shepherd.
Stay Strong
The storm can be real — and the One who thunders in glory can still be King over it.
