lyrics
Let them exalt Him also in the congregation of the people, And praise Him in the assembly of the elders. He turns rivers into a wilderness, And the watersprings into dry ground— A fruitful land into barrenness, For the wickedness of those who dwell in it. He turns the wilderness into pools of water, And dry land into watersprings. There He makes the hungry dwell, That they may prepare a city for habitation, And sow fields and plant vineyards Which yield a fruitful harvest. He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, And does not let their cattle decrease. When they are diminished and brought low Through oppression, affliction, and sorrow, He pours contempt on princes And causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way. Yet He sets the poor on high from affliction And makes their families like a flock. The righteous see it and rejoice, And all iniquity stops its mouth. Whoever is wise and will observe these things, They will understand the lovingkindness of the Lord. Praise the Lord! O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His mercy endures forever.

Psalm 107C: Let the Righteous See It and Rejoice
When you need to remember — that You're still my Shepherd.
What's Going On…
You can stop noticing the small reversals. God has been quietly turning dry ground into water and putting weak people in places where they can finally rest, but you have been scrolling so fast you missed it. Then somebody points it out, and you realize how much you have not been looking for.
You do not need to manufacture optimism. You need to start observing what He is doing — and let it form wisdom in you about who He is.
What It Means
This passage is structured as observation. "He turns rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground — a fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it." He undoes what was abundant when wickedness fills the place. But then the reverse: "He turns the wilderness into pools of water, and dry land into watersprings. There He makes the hungry dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation, and sow fields and plant vineyards which yield a fruitful harvest. He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and does not let their cattle decrease."
Then the social reversal: "When they are diminished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow, He pours contempt on princes and causes them to wander in the wilderness where there is no way. Yet He sets the poor on high from affliction and makes their families like a flock." Princes get contempt. The poor get lifted. Powers that crushed get crushed; people who were crushed get a flock.
The close is about seeing it: "The righteous see it and rejoice, and all iniquity stops its mouth. Whoever is wise and will observe these things, they will understand the lovingkindness of the Lord. Praise the Lord! O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever." Wisdom is the act of paying attention to what He has been quietly doing.
Right Here, Right Now
• Right now, name out loud one quiet reversal you have noticed in the last month — a small place where God turned dry ground into water — and thank Him for it specifically.
• Write this down: "What has He been quietly doing in my life or around me that I have been too distracted to observe?"
• Repeat this line when injustice looks permanent: "He sets the poor on high from affliction and makes their families like a flock."
Selah
Stop. Breathe. Let your eyes adjust to seeing the reversals you have been missing. Then tell Him what you want to start observing on purpose — out loud if you can.
Prayer
God, You have been turning dry ground into pools and lifting low people into rest, and I have been scrolling past it.
Forgive me for treating Your quiet reversals like background noise.
Give me eyes that see and a heart that rejoices when I notice You setting the poor on high.
Teach me to observe these things until I understand Your lovingkindness more clearly.
Pour contempt on what crushes Your people, and make their families like a flock again.
You're still my Shepherd.
